Nam Soi Hydropower Plant is located on Nam Soi spring, Muong Cai commune, Song Ma district, Son La province.
Nam Soi spring is a level 1 tributary on the right bank of the Ma river, originating in a mountain area with a height of nearly 2000m located on Vietnam - Laos border. From the originating sources, the water flows from South to North. When it reaches downstream, it flows from Southwest to Northeast and merge into Ma river in Chieng Khoong commune, Song Ma district, Son La province.
Nam Soi Hydropower Plan has a total installed capacity of NLm = 10MW with 02 turbines. The annual average power output of the plant is 35.770 million kWh, which is connected and supplied the National Power networks. The plant main mission is to improve the quality of local electricity. The amount of water from Nam Soi's discharge flow can provide agriculture support to improve the lives of local communities, especially ethnic minorities in the beneficiary area of Muong Cai commune.
