Nam Cong Hydropower Plant is located on Nam Cong stream, Huoi Mot commune, Song Ma district, Son La province.  

Nam Cong stream is a level 1 tributary of Sop Cop, originating on Vietnam - Laos border. From the originating sources, the water flows from Southwest to Northeast and merge into Sop Cop stream in Sop Cop commune, Song Ma district, Son La province.

Nam Cong 4 Hydropower Plan is the third hydropower plant on Nam Cong Stream, after Ta Co and Nam Cong 3 hydropower plants. The catchment area of Nam Cong 4 hydropower dam is 761 km2. The length of the main river flow is about 44.1 km. Nam Cong 4 has a total installed capacity of NLm = 10MW with 02 turbines. The annual average power output of the plant is 39.184 million kWh, which is connected and supplied the National Power networks. The plant main mission is to improve the quality of local electricity as well as contribute into local development. The amount of water from Nam Soi's discharge flow can provide agriculture support to improve the lives of local communities, especially ethnic minorities in the beneficiary area of ​​Song Ma district.
